He will be missed. Rest your oar Papa!
When we had a large get together a few years ago for a bunch of US Marines that were preparing for a deployment to Iraq he gave every Marine in attendance freed hot dpgs and ice cream. None of us ever forgot that. This year when we have our trdational family gathering on Mem Day weekend we will do a minute of silence to remember him, his boat, and the excitement my Grandchildren felt every time the boat arrived in Leavitt Bay
That was hands down my most memorable day off, spending the day with a friend and her family on their pontoon boat. Everything was new and exciting for me that day on Ossipee Lake, I was a little kid all over again that day. Driving up to the gas station to fill up on gas for the boat, you would have thought I had never seen a gas station before. Then, the best part of my day hands down, was when we bought ice cream from the man on the lake. I was in complete awe with my strawberry shortcake ice cream and still talk about it today. I will NEVER forget that day…Thank you for my best and favorite memory of the perfect day.
One could hear the excitement in our kids delighted yells “Here comes TOM the ice cream man” They would run to anyone for money,, he’d beach his boat, get the kids their treats , they’d push him back out. So fun!!. What a wonderful memory he made for all of us. RIP Tom.
