Ossipee—October 16, 2018—The Pine River public boat ramp on Route 25 in Ossipee will be closing for one day this week to grade and pave an asphalt apron at the entrance to the facility. The apron will help control erosion and improve vehicle traction while entering and exiting the property, according to the state.
The work is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 18, weather permitting. The project will block the entrance to the facility, so access to launch and retrieve boats that day will not be possible.
A backup date will be announced if necessary. The installation will go forward unless it is raining or unusually cold.
New Hampshire’s Public Boat Access Program is funded through boat registration fees and federal Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration funds, and the ramp is managed by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
This ramp was in bad shape with many large pot holes (caused by boaters draining at ramp). This should be a marked improvement.
