Freedom–October 17, 2013– On Tuesday of this week (the day after observance of Columbus Day) the annual winter drawdown of Ossipee Lake began with a small increase in opening of the dam. The level this morning is at 407.0 — three inches below summer level. No heavy rain in the forecast, so the lake level should continue going down.
Last week we received some heavy rain that caused a fast response and large opening of the dam for a couple of days. The lake level remained just an inch below plan level.
We had some boat activity this past holiday weekend. Most docks are out, and boat storage facilities are filling up. Winter is coming.
