March 13, 2009 — Ossipee voters Wednesday night approved funding for a study on the feasibility of combining the town’s fire precincts. The town currently has three independent precincts, each with its own chief and separate fire commissions. The study will assess the advantages and disadvantages of consolidation.
In other major voting results, townspeople rejected funding for additional sidewalks in Center Ossipee village, and elected former selectman E. Morton Leavitt, known as Morty, who ran unopposed for the open seat on the Board of Selectmen.
