Ossipee – March 29, 2008 – Fire destroyed the big lake home of a Massachusetts family on Friday. Neighbors reported a structure fire on Long Sands Road in Ossipee at around 7 a.m. and when Center Ossipee Fire Chief Mike Brownell arrived he said there was a heavy fire in the building.

Fire had burned a vent hole in one of the east walls. Firefighters and apparatus from Center Ossipee, West Ossipee, Ossipee Corner, Freedom, Wolfeboro, and Tamworth battled heavy snow and slick roads to get to the two alarm fire in the lakefront vacation home, which was not occupied at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the blaze was not known at the scene.
